We made it

A short climb up the mountain brought us a beautiful view and most important for the children, a snack.  Fortunately, we made it up and back before it got too hot, but we were still ready for a swim afterwards.

The birthday boy

It’s my favorite from the day.  Happy Birthday Linden!  You are a special part of this family, one of a kind, kind hearted, lover of anything sweet, craft making boy.  We love you!

Flips flops

They are Linden’s favorite.  I don’t know how I ever got him to wear closed toe shoes for school.  Just look at those dirty little boy feet.

 

Photography props

Gibson found my ladder and little chair I like to use as photography props and now claims them as his own.  It’s been a struggle to get him to not drag the ladder all over the wood floors.  This morning he decided to eat his breakfast while balancing on the ladder.

A big day

We began clearing the lot and we can now actually walk onto the property without ducking and snagging our clothes on random tree branches.  It’s an improvement and we can now really see the lot which is fun. Plus, now we can play king of the mountain.

What remains

Sunday brought us a quick trip to the ER because Hadley’s face started swelling.  We are unsure what brought it on but it confirmed that we need to have him tested to see what he’s allergic to.  The day after he looked like this.  He looks much better, no longer swollen but still red from the areas that swelled.

Have you met my puppy?

His name is Gibson and he comes out to play frequently.  In fact when he was looking at this picture just now he started saying doggie and pretending to be a dog.  Funny boy.

What’s up doc?

Why are carrots that aren’t already cut up so exciting?  The kids don’t even know Bugs Bunny to get the what’s up doc, which is strange all in itself, but they sure did enjoy carrots with the leaves still attached.

At the lot

There is always something interesting to be found at the lot.  For Channing is always a reason to take a picture.

Dressing up

The best part of this look is that the batting helmet is on backwards.

The diorama

 

Hadley and Griffin had to make a diorama for school and being the good mom that she is, Sarah let all the other kids make something as well.  Brooks and Linden made a shoebox that looked like it had a beach inside.

Take a picture?

I had my camera out and asked Gibson if he wanted to take a picture with me.  he walked right into my arms and smiled at the camera.  Oooo, love it, makeup under the eyes and all.

Happy faces

Since I’m a little late posting this I’m not even sure WHAT they were having such a good time doing but I’ll take those happy faces any day.

After the nap

Sometimes it takes a few minutes for this guy to wake up after his nap.

Precious neighbors

 

The last couple of years our children have woken up Easter morning to eggs in our front yard courtesy of some sweet neighbors across the street.  I guess we burst the bubble next year and tell them it was our neighbors and NOT the Easter bunny.

Annual Henderson Party

The Henderson’s always throw a great Easter Party.  It did not disappoint.

We got a box full of confetti eggs from my mom and the kids had THE best time cracking them over each other’s heads.

School parties

Well as always, school party days coincide, which is difficult when schools are across town from each other.  Channing barely hunted eggs because she had fallen right before the hunt.  Luckily Miss Theresa helped out.  We will really miss Northside Preschool next year.

Tree climber

In our house this is just about the best (and only) tree that Channing can climb.  She was pretty proud of it.

A new move on the swing

 

I don’t know what exactly he was doing but he wanted his picture taken while he drug himself on the ground.  And, he was happy, that was worthy of a picture in and of itself. 

Church Easter Egg Hunt

Now this is a picture I love even if they aren’t matching.  Sunday we had the church Easter egg hunt.  It was fun to watch Gibson actually understand hunting eggs this year.  I think it’s Hadley’s last year to hunt eggs at church and I’m sad that it was also his first year since we’ve only been Northside members for a few months. Regardless it was a great (hot) day!
