A first showing

We got notice that we would have a showing on Wednesday and luckily it was at a good time (after we got school done and before Gibson’s nap) and the weather was beautiful.  It’s not easy on any of us these days trying to keep the house clean.  The boys have been such big helpers and I’m thankful.

Do you see him asking for more?  I gave him a spoonful of icing and he wanted more of course and was quite unhappy when I didn’t give him any.

 

She tries

Channing has pretty regularly stopped taking naps but it makes evening book reading time hard to stay awake for.  This particular evening Channing crashed and was snoring while Stefan continued reading to the boys. 

Linden’s last game

Linden had his last flag football game and I have to say we are relieved that it’s over. While it’s been a warm winter, it seems that if a rainy cool front is coming through, it comes in just in time for Linden’s games. Vicki and Gary braved the cool breeze to sit out and watch Linden run around. It meant so much to him that they came.

We can’t be late

This was our first year to play Upwards basketball.  We were late to one of Hadley’s games and were never late again because Hadley wouldn’t let us.  His favorite part was running through the streamers and cheerleaders as they called his name.

The most enormous pizza ever

Did you know that this isn’t even the biggest one they make?  This is 37 inches and they make a 42 inch one.

The time is nearing

I have a feeling that the time is nearing when I won’t be using my studio equipment.  I really LOVE working in the studio, the weather’s always fine inside and the light is perfect but it’s a pain.  Since we actually have a table and chairs in our dining room it’s work to set up my studio equipment.  Stefan works hard not to complain when I have a session but I certainly don’t take pictures in there just for fun anymore and sometimes I miss that. 

Yes we did put the digital piano on top of the dining room table and all my props piled on top as well.

Piano

I hope it’s a part of our life forever.  I think everyone probably hopes their children will learn to play an instrument.  It’s a gift that we are giving them and I love that Hadley owns it.  I have to help him sometimes but when it’s time for theory he never complains just gets out his book and gets after it.

Wheelie

Check out that wheelie.  This is one of 8 scooters that live in our garage.  We only have 4 children, you do the math.  At least they are getting used.

 

President’s Day = Painting

Since we had the day off of school on Presidents Day I used the day to get some things done around the house, like paint the middle bedroom.  This is what happens when you try to paint with children around.  They inevitably walk in the room and lean against a wet wall.

It’s Rodeo Time!

Gary always gets good seats to the rodeo and when there was just Hadley the 5 of us went.  When Hadley turned 2 he had to have his own seat so 3 of us and Hadley went.  It wasn’t long before Linden was old enough and Stefan and I were booted all together so our children could go.  (And we’re thankful)  Last year was Channing’s first year so we actually had to buy tickets in order for everyone to go because there are only 4 company tickets plus Cara and Barrett started going as well with our crew.  This year the 7 of them went again and we got to watch sweet Kennedy.  Gibson and I had a grand time and so did our children.

I’m over it

I’ve been pouring over floor plans trying to find the perfect one and I give up!  Our house is covered with printed plans and my eyes are crossing.  I’m moving on.

Repeating

I know this is a repeat from the other blog but it’s my picture from Thursday.  I am so enjoying this boy these days.  I asked him why he doesn’t hug me often.  He went into a long explanation about how little girls hug their moms and then when they get bigger they start hugging their dads.  I asked him if that means that when he gets bigger he’s going to start hugging me because I feel like he’s already big.  He wasn’t quite sure how to respond but went with yes.  Good to know.

Baby Face

I know it won’t be long before I’ll be looking at this baby face and baby hands and thinking that my little man is big.  He is growing everyday and we are soaking it all in.

Life is like

you know the rest, a box of chocolates and Linden looked forward to his $1 box of chocolates since he’d gotten one last year.  It doesn’t matter what’s inside, if it’s sweet, he loves it.

I took it down

The kids made me this awesomely large card for Christmas and I finally took it down, not before a picture was taken to remember it by though.  It’s hung in my room for 2 months and I was sad to take it down but a nutcracker in February just doesn’t fit.

The things you do

for your grandchildren….. You go and watch a flag football game in 30 degree temperatures even though the one playing doesn’t care that much and even if it’s practice and then a game so you have to wait in the frigid weather for 1 1/2 hours instead of just an hour.  I have to say, it’s one time that Gibson being sick worked out well for me.  I got out of having to go to that game.

It’s possible.  He was sporting the correct attire and watching videos from it. 

He can’t believe it

Friday we worked on the house and stayed home since G was still running fever.  Hadley climbed into a box so we taped it up and stuck him on the front porch.  I love this picture because he’s pointing to Carla and incredulously saying that she taped the box.  He just couldn’t believe she would do that. 

A change of plans

We had intended to take Channing and Gibson to school on Thursday but that diagnosis of RSV kind of put a damper on things.  Channing went to school as planned, I took Gibson back to the doctor and Carla took the boys to the park. Later while Gibson napped Carla picked up Channing and took the boys and her out for yogurt and putt putt.  I wasn’t there to take pictures and I’m going to go ahead and blame Carla for not taking my camera.  (You know I have a couple of spare cameras right?)

I tried to get a picture after their outing and look at Ms. Pouty Pants.  She had fun, don’t let the face fool you.

Sick boy

I had a dentist appointment while Carla was here on Wednesday and she called me right before I was got home to tell me that Gibson had woken up from his nap and she thought he probably needed to go to the doctor because as soon as she had got him up he laid back down on her and feel back asleep.  We had given him Tylenol before his nap but apparently it did nothing for his fever because when I got to urgent care his temp was 102.5.  They gave him motrin and he perked up but tested positive for RSV.  Poor boy.  There is nothing sweeter than getting to snuggle with your sick 2 year old who rarely sits still but I hated that he was feeling bad.

Basketball practice

I normally take all the kids to Hadley’s practice.  Sarah drops him and Linden off at the church on the way home from school and we stay at practice until Stefan can get there.  This Tuesday I had backup at practice and I was thankful since Stefan was a little later than normal.  Carla stayed at practice when Stefan got there and I took the other three home.  I think she enjoyed actually getting to see him play without distraction.  He was proud to have her there.

Lala’s here

Carla got into town on Monday just in time for winter break.  We had all kinds of plans but Gibson getting sick kind of put a damper on things.  We worked Carla to death though and loved on her so much we sent her home sick with all kinds of new germs.  I’m sure there was tickling involved here and monkey see, monkey do.

When he’s sleeping

Channing was climbing all over Stefan while he was trying to catch a quick nap.  I told her to make a face and this is what I got.  She’s a funny girl.

He’s two

My baby is two. This sweet boy keeps us on our toes and laughing. We all love him so.  His big gift from us was a mini trampoline.  He was a fan. 

Grammy’s visit

 

Karen got into town on Wednesday evening and had to leave Saturday afternoon but we really enjoyed having her even though it was a short trip.  There was some game playing being done here.

Copy cat

That’s me, I can never come up with original ideas but I’m a good copy cat.  I had seen these mailboxes glued to spray painted candlesticks and I thought it would be a fun cheap project.  I then saw a cute idea to leave a little gift in the mailboxes leading up to Valentine’s Day with a printable.  The first day was you are the apple of my eye with apple sauce.  I didn’t remember to do it everyday but they were thrilled with the little gifts and surprises.

A little help

One of Gibson’s favorite people these days is Hadley.  He regularly climbs up in the chair while Hadley is working on school.  Maybe Hadley will teach him to read before he turns 3.  It really looks like he’s paying attention doesn’t it?
